Tesco has announced that it is offering mobile broadband to its shoppers with free laptops and netbooks.

The products will go on sale along with mobile broadband offers from the main networks at all 42 of Tesco’s Phone Shops (pictured) and at www.tescocontractmobilephones.com

Customers will be able to choose from over 30 laptops and netbooks coupled with mobile broadband packages from the networks. Deals include the Dell Studio XPS 16 with a 24-month 3 mobile broadband package at £29.36 a month or a Compaq CQ60-214EM for £34.26 a month on either Orange or 3.

Tesco Mobile and Tesco Telecoms CEO Lance Batchelor said: “We believe that mobile broadband is going to really take off in 2009 and we want to help our customers get the very best deals, making it easier than ever to stay connected wherever they are.”

A Tesco Mobile spokesperson said that the retailer is looking to launch its own branded mobile broadband offerings later down the line.
