Virgin Media has opened two new stores this week, in Wolverhampton and Hounslow.
The new store in Wolverhampton’s Mander Centre was opened by former England striker and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ all time top goal scorer Steve Bull, MBE (pictured at the store opening).
The Hounslow store in outer west London is the seventh new opening for the company this year. The stores showcase Virgin Media’s quad play offering of mobile, fixed line, television and broadband.
Virgin Media managing director of consumer sales Peter Taddeo said: “We’re delighted to officially open our brand new store in Hounslow and establish a significant presence for Virgin Media in the town. The store has been designed to give customers the chance to try before they buy so they can get a great idea of the quality and range Virgin Media has to offer.
“We are also really pleased to announce the official opening of our new Virgin Media store in Wolverhampton, especially with local footy favourite Steve Bull on board.”
During the first week of both stores’ trading Virgin Media will be offering special deals, including a grand prize of a Virgin Media bundle worth more than £1,100, including high speed broadband, a V+ HD box plus subscription to a range of TV channels, and a landline phone package.
Virgin Media has already opened new stores in central Birmingham, Plymouth, Bromley, Leeds and Leicester this year, taking the total number of own-branded stores to 29.
The company plans to triple its retail presence in a year in addition to introducing ‘retail lite’ sites to be set up in prominent locations within shopping centres across the country, including Meadowhall in Sheffield, the Victoria Centre in Nottingham and the Ropewalk Shopping Centre in Nuneaton.
