Manufacturer brand Sonim has today unveiled its latest high durability handset in partnership with car company Land Rover. Distributor Shebang has exclusive rights to the device, which has been pre-approved by Orange.
The Land Rover S1 by Sonim handset follows the JCB handset launched last year. Sonim claimed the device is “unbreakable”.
It is water and sand proof, and can be dropped from heights of one metre without damage, said Sonim. It can also be submerged in water for up to half an hour and withstand temperatures below -29 degrees.
Other features include 2 megapixel flash camera and in-built GPS, GPRS, torch light, FM radio, Bluetooth and support of Java. It has also been given a three year guarantee.
It will also be available through Go Mobile stores, run by Shebang, and Land Rover online.
Data Select had the rights to its predecessor, the JCB handset.
