LG has revealed that its Arena handset sold around 300,000 units in its first month on sale in Europe.
The manufacturer said much of the attention has been focused around its 3D S-Class User Interface, which is designed to give the UI a ‘life-like’ look.
Following the success of the Arena and the UI, LG has launched the 3D S-Class website, purposely developed to allow users to download a desktop widget and S-Class screensaver, as well as play 3D games.
Through the website, LG will be giving away an Arena handset every day to a lucky participant who downloads the widget, while an Arena will also be awarded every week to the top scorer in the 3D game.
LG Mobile UK head of marketing Jeremy Newing said: “LG’s intuitive 3D S-Class UI is fast and dynamic, delivering a sense of fun and interaction not found on any other mobile platform. We have had a great response to the S-Class UI to-date, and wanted the experience of the interface to be available to everyone, which is why we developed this 3D S-Class website simulation.”
