Brightpoint has parted company with EMEA president and former Dangaard chief operating officer Michael Koehn Milland (pictured).
Koehn Milland was instrumental in the Brightpoint’s purchase and integration of Danish distribution giant Dangaard in 2007, as well as which the acquisition of Hugh Symons Telecom (Brightpoint GB) in the UK in 2008.
Brightpoint executive vice president and chief financial officer Anthony W. Boor takes the role of EMEA president on an interim basis.
Brightpoint chairman and chief Robert J. Laikin said: “Tony will excel in this added role while maintaining the tight controls and excellent leadership in guiding the Company’s financial position in these unprecedented times.
“We will continue to focus on optimising our European operating and financial structure. I want to thank Michael Koehn Milland for his hard work in his role and wish him all the best in the future.”
Brightpoint said its European operation will continue consolidating its warehouse facilities to create strategically-located hubs, or ‘centres of excellence’, to centralise back-office functions and serve its European operations more effectively.
“This streamlines our operations in the region which ultimately will allow our vendors and customers to take costs out of their supply chain,” Brightpoint said.
Brightpoint said it expected to post revenue of $722 million to $727 million for the second quarter, ended June 30. Its unaudited results show global shipments of between 18 million and 19 million units, debt of $95 million to $97 million and cash of approximately $74 to $76 million.
