Manchester B2B dealer Adaptive Communications has acquired the customer base of Cheshire-based Manweb Communications.

Manweb, which is in liquidation, has around 60 business customers, with accounts of between 20 and 100 handsets. Manweb sells voice, data and fleet management solutions.

Adaptive director James Brayshaw said: “We have bought its good will, and will serve its customers going forward. Manweb entered the market in 2006, and has struggled with cashfl ow. But it has won some good accounts, and it is another good acquisition for us.”

Adaptive bought the assets of Manchester dealer MPT early last year, boosting its annual turnover by around £180,000 in the process. Brayshaw said Adaptive increased turnover by 50 per cent and profi ts by 100 per cent in 2008.

“We also broke our previous glass ceiling in terms of business accounts – with several accounts covering around 400 handsets, where previously our highest was 120,” said Brayshaw. Adaptive puts most of its connections through Yes Telecom.
