Airtime distributor MoCo has stopped connecting Orange as volumes slowed and it committed to O2 for business connections and 3 for consumer sales and certain other business contracts.
MoCo’s distribution business now connects O2 and 3 only; its direct sales operation connects O2 and Vodafone.
MoCo managing director Ian Robinson said: “It was a strategic decision. We wanted to focus on O2 and 3; we are a Centre of Excellence partner with the former and have just integrated our systems with the latter. In my opinion, it is difficult to sell all the networks now, and we need partners that will support us.”
An Orange spokesperson said: “Orange and Cell Link (MoCo) have agreed to part after a long and successful partnership. This is a mutually based decision and allows Cell Link to focus on other areas. We would like to wish it every success in the future.”
Meanwhile, Orange distributor Midland has expanded its Scottish footprint, with the recruitment of 10 new Orange connectors and the appointment of a new regional manager.
