X-Mobility, which has an aggregator licence to run MVNOs over the 3 network, will lease 30 MVNOs in the next 12 months. It has 10 already, and will enable 10 more by the end of the year.
It is already working with student MVNO ‘Uni Tel’. It has also struck a deal with 20:20 Mobile for handset fulfilment and also to promote its new application store among licencees, in exchange for new MVNO referrals.
“We are 18 months ahead of schedule,” said X-Mobility chief Wayne Myers. “We have ordered more than 170,000 SIMs with 3 and taken delivery of approximately 85,000 already.
“Businesses have wanted to set up MVNOs, but MNOs have wanted too much commitment and operational development. It takes almost a year to set up with an MNO; six weeks with us.”
