Sony Ericsson has released the Jalou, a fashion phone with a facet-cut jewel form.
The phone is the first from the handset manufacturer to feature the Walk Mate step counter to help users stay in shape and also comes with a mirror key that allows users to see their own reflection from the screen. Other features include a 3.2-megapixel camera, FM radio and music player with Sony Ericsson’s PlayNow and Track ID services.
Sony Ericsson marketing business manager Linda Schori said: “We wanted to create a beautiful handset without compromising on style or content. It’s perfect for anyone who is sociable, loves fashion and wants to stay one step ahead of trends, because it has a fashion forward design you will want to show off. And, for such a compact handset, it has an immense amount of detail both inside and out.”
The Jalou, which will come in blue, black and teal, will be available in the UK as well as selected markets in Q4.
Dolce&Gabbana has also created a special limited edition of the Jalou (pictured), which will come with 24-carat gold plating and exclusive packaging and accessories.
These include three silk satin bags to protect the phone, store the charger or carry jewellery and a Dolce&Gabbana branded headset with gold accents. Content on the phone includes exclusive photography and video clips from the designer’s Autumn/Winter 2010 runway show, as well as a range of themes and wallpapers.
Schori added: “Jalou by Dolce&Gabbana has all the great features of Jalou but with added special elements such as 24 carat gold plating and exclusive Dolce&Gabbana content. It’s the handset for someone who wants that something extra. Both handsets are perfect for anyone who is sociable, loves fashion and wants to stay one step ahead of trends – it’s a fashion forward design you will want to show off.”
