O2’s online discounts store for its 14,000 UK employees to purchase a range of products and services has launched ‘Summer Staycation Deals’.
An O2 online customer poll of 562 people showed that a third said they would shun a holiday abroad this summer in favour of a break in the UK. Around half said they would stay at home entirely, while a fifth would consider slashing the length of their holiday to save money.
O2’s ‘Summer Staycation Deals’ website offers up to 60 per cent off live music events in the UK, up to 75 per cent off designer clothes brands, 10 per cent saving on tickets to sports events, 20 per cent off food, snacks and hampers, 10 per cent off BBQ equipment, up to 50 per cent off selected wines, up to 50 per cent off home entertainment, 10 per cent discount on a range of hotels, savings on theme parks including Disneyland Paris and savings on exclusive holiday packages to Egypt, the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean and the Middle East.
O2 head of reward Colin Watt said: “Summer holidays should be about fun, relaxation and good times, but we recognise that in the current climate money can be a concern. That’s why we’ve launched O2 Summer Staycation Deals, as an easily accessible online portal that allows all our employees to access exclusive discounts on amazing summer deals, from discounted hotels and holidays to cheap theme park and theatre tickets.
“We constantly evaluate the pressures and challenges that our employees face to create benefits and rewards that meet their specific needs. It would be easy to map out our benefits programme at the beginning of the year, but by staying in tune and connected to employees lives we can deliver rewards and benefits that deliver the most value for our people.”
