Tesco has launched its very first issue of a mobile phone magazine in store. The mag doesn’t give away too much to would-be customers, but it points out its latest and greatest pay monthly handsets and prepay deals. In the ‘new and coming soon’ section is the Land Rover S1 phone. This ‘rugged’ phone withstands a 2 metre drop on concrete, is submersible up to 1 metre for 30 minutes in water, has built-in GPS and works in conditions between -20 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius.  Tesco is also stocking the Nokia N97, which comes with a 5.2-megapixel camera, full QWERTY keyboard, 32GB onboard memory and 3.5 inch touch screen. A bunch of LG handsets are “coming soon” to Tesco on contract. The über-stylish see-through GD900 Crystal, the GW520 “instant social network updating” handset and GT505 five-megapixel camera phone will hit the grocer’s shelves in the coming weeks.

Carphone’s web exclusives include the Nokia 6700 classic (pictured) on Orange Dolphin 15 priced at £15 per month on a 24-month contract. The tariff is half price for the duration of the contract, a saving of £270. Customers get 400 minutes and 300 texts. The Tocco Lite has a three-inch touchscreen, accelerometer sensor, 3.2-megapixel and handwriting recognition.  Another deal on Orange sees a fiver knocked off the Orange Dolphin £30 tariff with the 8-megapixel Sony Ericsson W995. It comes with 400 minutes and 3,000 texts.

Dial-a-Phone is promoting Vodafone tariffs by handing £120 cash back with selected new contracts.
