US handset distributor Brightpoint has signed a multi-year reverse logistics agreement with Boost Mobile, the US action sports mobile brand owned by Sprint Nextel.
The deal will see all Boost Mobile resellers use a single solution for ordering and returning products. Services include processing handset returns and reflashing, repairing, repackaging and shipping stock.
Brightpoint Americas president J. Mark Howell said: “This announcement is consistent with our focus on expanding our reverse logistics capabilities.”
Meanwhile, Brightpoint has brought in consultancy Chainnovations to assess the US mobile logistics industry, and make improvements to its systems and processes.
Brightpoint has worked before with Chainnovations on reverse logistics solutions, including returns management, accounts receivable management, and testing and flashing services.
Brightpoint has hired Blake Vaughn as director of reverse logistics to lead the work. Vaughn previously worked for Cingular/AT&T Wireless as senior manager in its supply chain group focused on reverse logistics.
