Fonehouse will have 10 more franchises open by the end of October, and is confident it can reach its target of 50 by Christmas.
Six more partners are pencilled in for September, with four scheduled to come on board in October to take its franchise count to 44. Four of these will be Vodafone-branded and two T-Mobile-branded, with the remaining four still to be decided.
Fonehouse is also working with Samsung to drive more content into the franchisees’ stores. Live handset stands, which feature the recently released Jet, have been put into all stores by Samsung’s channel marketing department as well as accessories stands featuring the manufacturer’s products.
The retailer is also looking to increase its franchise partner team with the appointment of an account manager and trainer.
Fonehouse managing director Clive Bayley said: “The franchise programme is rolling along nicely and to know that we’ll have 44 partners on our books by the end of October is a big boost. It convinces me that we can exceed our target of 50 by Christmas.
“We’re also delighted to be working so closely with Samsung as our partners are getting access to stands that are not readily available to them. It’s about getting our partners selling as much as possible.”
