JAG has said its franchise programme is showing signs of success as it claimed a 15 per cent sales increase in August.
The retailer, which has 58 franchise partners at present, said the programme that launched two months ago is starting to pay dividends for it.
Managing director John George said: “August was a very good month for us and I put the 15 per cent rise compared to previous months down to the success of our franchise programme.
“Before last month the whole franchise idea was a bit alien to the staff and they now seem to have got into the swing of it all as last month was their second full month as a franchisee. It’s all very encouraging.”
George said adding franchise stores would be put on hold this month as all staff within the company have been approached about becoming a franchisee. Instead it is now focussed on recruiting dealers from outside the company.
Said George: “We’re looking at independent dealers with local knowledge that might be interested in taking on the stores. The feedback has been good and I’m fairly confident we can build back to where we were before our troubles started.”
