Vodafone and LG have announced the launch of the GM750, the latest device to be based on the new Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system. The phone goes on sale on sale on October 6 and will be exclusive to Vodafone until the end of December.
The full touchscreen device comes with LG’s S-Class user interface and a 3-inch screen. In addition, customers can use third party applications to change the look and feel of the UI on Windows Mobile 6.5 with a personal background or designer themes. They can also personalise the home screen so that the information they need is easily accessible.
Consumers will also be able to download applications directly to their phone via Windows Marketplace for Mobile, and use the free My Phone service to automatically back up and synch photos, music and texts to their PC. Other features include a 5-megapixel camera and Wi-Fi.
Vodafone Group global director of terminals Patrick Chomet said: “This stylish, touchscreen smartphone will have great appeal to both consumer and business customers, and ensures Vodafone delivers on its promise to constantly bring customers new services and greater choice.”
LG Electronics Mobile senior vice president Europe Harrison Lee said: “The combination of Vodafone’s services, Windows Mobile 6.5 platform and our S-Class UI, technology and design expertise, makes the GM750 the mobile package consumers with busy lives have been waiting for.”
The LG GM750 will initially be available in store in the UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands and in France through SFR, with further countries following soon after.
