Voda adds to own-brand range

Vodafone has announced eight new additions to its own branded consumer handset range, featuring Swarovski crystal-designed and touchscreen devices.

Three new designs are being added to the Vodafone 533 Catwalk Collection – a ‘Red’ colour variant; a ‘Lady’ fashion phone decorated with an artist’s impression of “girls about town”, created by Berlin-based artist Tomek Sadurski; and a ‘Crystal’ slider featuring embedded Swarovski crystals.

The Vodafone 541 Touch is the network’s first entry-level touchscreen handset aimed at young prepay customers. It will launch in the next few coming months.
 
The higher specification Vodafone 840 Touch has a larger screen and 3G connectivity.

There is also a line of internet browsing devices – the 540, 340, and 3G connectivity on the 1240 and 840.

Vodafone group director of terminals Patrick Chomet said: “I am delighted to be adding further diversity to the Vodafone own branded device range. From fashion-influenced mobiles to business tools, these new handsets will give our customers stylish, contemporary and great value choices. This new range of mobile phones will offer features such as a touchscreen experience and services like the mobile internet to a broad base of both European pre-pay customers and customers in emerging markets, many of whom will be using them for the first time.”
 
To date 20 million handsets have been shipped globally under the Vodafone brand.
