Hutchison 3G Austria is to deploy high-speed mobile broadband in the region.
Hutchison 3G Austria has extended its partnership with Nokia Siemens Networks to increase its network capacity, and is preparing for the Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology switchover.
The modernisation will allow for download speeds as high as 155 Mbps once the network migrates to LTE.
Hutchison 3G Austria chief technology office Jan Trionow said: “Mobile internet access is driving our growth and we want to continue to ride the wave.
“Nokia Siemens Networks will help us turbo charge data download rates in the mobile broadband network. This enables our customers to surf the web even faster and more effectively than using a fixed line connection. Additionally we are now in a better position to offer new services like video on demand to the subscribers of Hutchison 3G Austria.”
Nokia Siemens Networks head of Central East Europe Dietmar Appeltauer said: “We know the architecture of the network by heart and can keep new expansions simple and cost efficient.”
