Nokia is to recruit staff to its newly-created solutions division, and removed fears staff will lose jobs through the reshuffle.
It said the move was to make Nokia more focussed on developing hardware and services that complement each other.
Nokia vice president of communications Kari Tuutti said the new division will enable devices to be launched quicker and provide a richer customer experience. Nokia will recruit staff to develop device user interfaces. It is yet to be confirmed how many staffers will join.
Tuutti said: “No one will lose jobs as there’s no overlap between the hardware and services divisions. We will start recruiting for the department, specifically for the user interface. It must be kept simple and integrate the social services users want.”
