Orange said its network outage today was partly caused by vandal damage in the Heathrow area.
A network spokesperson said: “We are aware that some BlackBerry customers experienced difficulty accessing emails earlier today. We can confirm the issue was a result of vandalism to cabling infrastructure, supplied to us by a third party provider in the Heathrow area of London.
“As soon as it was identified, engineers worked as a matter of priority to fix the issue, and full service has now been resumed.
“In a separate incident, some of our broadband customers may have encountered issues accessing the internet earlier today. We can confirm this matter was fixed shortly after being identified and full service was also resumed.
“We would once again like to apologise to those affected for any inconvenience this matter has caused them.”
