The Independent Mobile Phone Dealer Association (IMPDA) said it was working on securing further company partnerships to offer special benefits to its members, following the announcement of its agreement with distributor Brightstar.
Under the agreement, Brightstar will manage a dealer loyalty programme for IMPDA members that will help them drive sales and compete with major networks and retailers.
IMPDA members will have access to the full range of SIM-free handsets and accessories from all manufacturers Brightstar works with, as well as the comprehensive portfolio of convergence and IT products. They will also receive advanced information and access to special offers on new products. IMPDA members will be offered manufacturer training and priority stock allocation on certain products.
IMPDA chairman Chris Caudle said the organisation was now in discussions with other companies to offer preferential services to its members.
“We are talking to credit checking companies, trying to sign up with one that does it at a low cost,” said Caudle. “This is so dealers can pre-check customers before going to the network, saving them the administration if they know beforehand a customer isn’t going to pass.”
He added the IMPDA was in discussion with companies that can offer legal advice to dealers.
