Samsung nabs former O2 exec

Samsung Mobile has announced the appointment of former O2 executive Simon Stanford as sales director.

Stanford will be responsible for leading his sales team to drive sales and increase market share of Samsung’s new range of handsets, smartphones and accessories across the UK.

Prior to joining Samsung, Stanford was head of connected markets for Telefonica O2 UK where he was responsible for the overall general management of the retail, services, media, leisure, IT and telco sectors within corporate sales. During his six year tenure Stanford held a number of senior roles at O2 including head of trading, and prepay marketing manager. He also worked for Orange for some years in the business marketing area.  

Said Stanford: “I am thrilled to be taking up the role of UK sales director.
