3 customers can now access Monitise mobile banking services from their handsets.
Customers will be able both to receive bank balance alerts by text message and also to download a mobile money application that allows users to manage their bank accounts in real time.
Services can be accessed via 3 UK’s ‘My 3′ portal. Customers can register for weekly alerts to receive text messages at a selected time and be sent a message if their balance goes above or below a certain limit. They can also choose to download a secure mobile banking application that enables a real time balance enquiry and mini-statement.
3 UK director of products and services Charlotte Blanchard said: “Through our partnership with Monitise, we have been able to bring on-demand mobile money services to market quickly and easily at a time when customer interest in managing money on the move is growing. As a network designed and built for mobile internet, it is our aim to ensure that we continue to offer the widest selection of innovative services in the UK, making them available to all of our customers. “
