Lyca recruits ex-Virgin lawyer

Ethnic MVNO Lycamobile has recruited Stephen Lodge as head of legal, tasked with managing the legal team.

Lodge will also be responsible for managing ongoing MVNO contract negotiations, regulatory affairs and European consumer law.

Lodge replaces former head of legal Mohammed Malique who has now become Group counsel for Lycamobile.

Lodge joins from Virgin Mobile where he was head of legal and has over 15 years experience in the legal sector. Prior to Virgin Mobile, Lodge was sole counsel for Diageo where he managed legal services across Asia Pacific. He also worked for private law firm Stephenson Harwood.

Lyca Group general counsel Mohammed Malique said: “Stephen has an exceptional proven record in the telecoms sector as a leader on legal and regulatory affairs for mobile business and it is with great pleasure and confidence therefore that I welcome him to head Lycamobile’s Legal Division.

“Stephen’s decision to join us and move across from his role as head of legal at Virgin Mobile is yet another example of the success of Lycamobile in attracting leaders in their respective fields.

“The management team look forward to calling upon Stephen’s broad experience and closely working with him as Lycamobile continues to grow from strength to strength to fulfil its ambitions of becoming a global leader for mobile business.”
