LG expects its LG KP500 Cookie (pictured) handset to top one million sales in the UK over Christmas, it told dealers this month.

Sales of LG’s KP500 Cookie have surpassed 600,000 since launch in the UK last year, and LG expects a surge in momentum around the device during the Q4 gifting period as its prepay price point falls further.

It expects to hit one million units in the UK over Christmas and 10 million globally, up from five million to date.

LG sold 29.8 million handsets globally in Q2 this year, increasing its total market share to 11 per cent, which it claims is double that of Motorola and Sony Ericsson combined in the period.
