Ingram Micro appoints new heads

IT distributor Ingram Micro has appointed Johan Vandenbussche as regional vice president for Benelux and UK and Matthew Sanderson as managing director for the UK.

Effective immediately, Vandenbussche reports in to senior executive vice president Alain Maquet and is based in Brussels. He will oversee operations in Belgium, Netherlands, and the UK. He will also manage merger and acquisition activity in EMEA.

Vandenbussche joined Ingram Micro in 1998, and has held positions as vice president of business development, vice president of pan-European business, vice president of Northern Europe responsible for UK and the Nordics as well as managing director for Belgium.

Maquet said: “Johan’s expanded role builds on his in-depth knowledge of the Belgian and UK marketplaces, where he has led the operations successfully in both countries in recent years.

“He brings strong relationships with both vendors and customers, and a focus on delivering excellent performance.”

Sanderson will begin his new position on January 1, 2010 and work between the Milton Keynes and Maidenhead offices as well as the Daventry distribution centre. He will report in to Vandenbussche and is responsible for developing its market position.

Sanderson joined Ingram Micro 14 years ago. His most recent position was senior director and general manager for volume business and consumer in Australia.

Prior, he held positions in purchasing, product management, marketing, vendor management, sales and senior management.

Maquet added: “We are very pleased to be welcoming Matt back to Europe and to his native England.

“Matt is a seasoned professional with a long track record of success within Ingram Micro and within the IT distribution industry. He is an excellent addition to our management team given his understanding of the UK marketplace, as well as his global experience gained through our Australia business.”
