Virgin Mobile revenues fall £12m

Virgin Mobile has reported a record 51 percent year on year increase in contract subscribers but a £10m decrease in revenues.

Virgin announced its Q3 results for the three months to September today revealing it added a record 88,000 new mobile subscribers, up 51 percent year on year, increasing its total contract subscriber base to more than 873,000.

However, monthly ARPU for contract customers fell year on year by 19p from £13.60 in Q3 2008 to £13.41 in Q3 2009.

Overal revenues from mobile also decreased by £12 million year on year, from £146 million in Q3 2008 to £134 million in Q3 2009.
