Carphone Warehouse said it is on track to sell one million Apple iPhone handsets by Christmas.
Carphone said since the launch of the iPhone in November 2007, sales have soared, and expects the one million sales target to be achievable due to the device being made available on Orange on November 10.
Carphone chief executive Andrew Harrison said: “We have a huge amount of experience in showcasing and assisting customers with the iPhone given the fact that we have been the sole independent retailer to sell the iPhone over the last two years.
“We are therefore a natural fit to bring the iPhone to the millions of Orange customers across the UK, which will push our total iPhone sales past the one million mark. We look forward to working with all the networks that will supply this phenomenal handset in future.”
Carphone is yet to announce whether it will stock the iPhone 3G and 3G S on Vodafone next year.
