Bluechipworld and Data Select have struck an exclusive deal with Tesco Telecoms to stock the VX-1 mini mobile throughout this year’s Christmas period.
The VX-1, manufactured by Bluetooth manufacturer BlueChipWorld and distributed by Data Select, is expected to retail at £19.99. It has been designed primarily as an emergency handset, performing only basic call and texts functions. The phone is unlocked so accepts SIM cards from all mobile networks.
BlueChipWorld managing director Simon Hassell said: “Tesco is a proven success story in the mobile arena, with an unsurpassed in-store execution and we’re delighted to be working with it on this exciting project.
“The VX-1 appeals to a whole new audience of mobile phone users who don’t want to risk losing or damaging their primary mobile phone whilst out and about. It’s perfect for nights out on the town, music festivals or holidays and will also be welcomed by parents who want to give their children an emergency phone to call home.”
The VX-1 is available in selected Tesco stores, Tesco Phone Shops and via the retailer’s website. It will be available from more outlets early next year.
