Orange has been rated the best provider of overall mobile broadband quality for the second time, according to a survey by independent research company YouGov.
The network came out on top in both quality and value for money, while customers also rated Orange’s mobile broadband service top in nine out of 15 categories, which included ease of use, staying connected and overall network coverage.
Earlier this year Orange took steps to provide consumers with greater control over their mobile broadband usage by launching new software that alerts them when they are approaching their usage limit. The company also introduced an automatic monthly bill cap, meaning customers are not charged more than an extra £40 a month if they accidentally exceed their monthly data allowance whilst using their dongle in the UK.
Orange UK director of broadband and home Asif Aziz said: “Being rated as top for our mobile network operator performance is a real honour and fantastic achievement. At Orange we’re committed to delivering a consistent and high quality user experience and have shown that we also offer great value for money with propositions starting from less than £5 a month.”
Orange’s mobile broadband was ranked number one for reliability in YouGov’s Dongle Tracker survey in April 2009. In 2008, the network was rated top provider for ‘overall mobile broadband service quality’ and number one for mobile broadband by YouGov.
