Nokia is to make further cutbacks in its research and development operations in Finland and Denmark, with around 330 employees at risk.
The company said it plans to align its R&D operations in its Oulu site in Finland, where up to 230 employees are affected, and its Copenhagen site, where around 100 employees are affected. The total represents around two per cent of Nokia’s R&D personnel globally.
Nokia said it would support the employees with alternative solutions, such as finding new positions within the company for as many employees as possible. In employee consultations voluntary severance packages will also be discussed.
