Tesco Mobile is prompting the start of a pricewar with the announcement of a 12-month contract for the iPhone, as well as higher-end deals that include unlimited calls, texts and internet.
The entry level iPhone 3G (8GB) will be offered to users from Monday at a one-off cost of £222, with a £20 monthly contract over just 12-months. This will include £60 of flexible credit to spend as users see fit.
The 16GB 3GS will be offered with unlimited calls, texts and data for £60 a month over two-years.
Tesco will also retail the phone on prepay, and include a minimum of one year to BT’s OpenZone Wi-Fi service within the UK.
Tesco is offering the iPhone from its growing number of Tesco Phone Shops and the Tesco Direct website.
