Vodafone UK is changing call charges for roaming business users from January 14, 2010.
Roaming costs will be simplified from having six regional zones to three, and a standard price per minute rate. The new zones will be Europe, USA/Canada and Rest of World. Calls to Europe will be charged at 33p per minute excluding VAT, USA/Canada 90p and Rest of World £1.40.
Countries within Europe include Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus (excluding Turkish sector), Czech Rep, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland (Republic of), Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal (inc. Azores & Madeira), Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (inc. Balearic Islands & Canary Islands), Sweden, Switzerland, Vatican City.
Vodafone UK enterprise director Peter Kelly said: “Our business customers tell us that when working overseas, staying in touch with colleagues and customers is essential. But if they do not travel often enough to justify a roaming package on their price plan, the current zone structure can be confusing.
“With these changes, businesses without a roaming package will be able to budget for voice calls more effectively.”
