Vodafone has today (January 14) launched the Apple iPhone on its network, and has dispatched 50,000 handsets to pre-registered customers.
Vodafone UK chief executive Guy Laurence confirmed the number of handsets that were due to be shipped to customers that signed up for the device ahead of the launch.
He said the reason for the demand for the iPhone on Vodafone was down to the quality of the network.
The iPhone 3G is priced at £59 on a £30 24-month contract with 300 minutes and unlimited texts, or free on a £35 24-month contract with 600 minutes and unlimited texts. The 3G S 16GB version is free on a £45 24-month contract with 1,200 minutes and unlimited texts. All contracts come with 1GB of data.
