O2 plans to launch a fixed line service, O2 Home Phone, for all O2 broadband customers in March.
Customers can choose from one of two landline packages – ‘Evening & Weekend’ which costs £9.50 per month and comes with unlimited evening and weekend calls and ‘Anytime’ which is priced at £12.50 and comes with unlimited calls to any UK landline, 0845/0870 numbers and landlines in over 20 countries.
O2 Home Phone is only available for customers using its broadband service and a BT landline.
Customers can get the standard broadband package and evening and weekend calls bundle for £17 per month.
O2 Home Phone will be available through O2 stores, its web portal and telesales as well as independent retailers including Carphone Warehouse.
O2 UK marketing director Sally Cowdry said: “This is the most important launch for us in the home space since we entered the broadband market and is part of our strategy to evolve beyond mobile to a leading connectivity brand.
“We know how many of our customers value the convenience of paying for their home phone and broadband together with no hidden extra costs, and we will be bringing the same commitment to quality of service with our home phone service as we have successfully established with broadband.”
