Azzurri Communications has signed a three-year deal with Severn Trent Water for the provision, support and management of a mobility solution for its 1,500 field-based engineers.
Severn Trent is deploying a new field worker management system to help it drive efficiency and productivity. The solution is built on Azzurri’s ‘Azzurri Roam’ service, which uses iPass software to provide employees on the road with secure and robust access to business applications.
Service connectivity is maintained by 3G mobile and broadband networks, over 140,000 Wi-Fi and ethernet locations and dial-up covering 165 countries.
Azzurri said the service will afford Severn Trent improved staff productivity and predictable costs. Azzurri sales and marketing director Jason Standerwick said: “Our Azzurri Roam managed service is seeing increased mobile traction with 25 per cent of the FTSE 100 choosing it as their preferred mobility solution.
“We believe this is because it has two major benefits for our customers: access to detailed analysis through our portal which requires effective cost control, and no need for any capital expenditure on equipment.”
iPass UK and Ireland sales director Azadar Shah said: “Mobility is a strategically important part of Severn Trent’s operations, and we are very pleased it has acknowledged our leadership in the enterprise mobility services space by choosing iPass.
“This project highlights our commitment with Azzurri to provide enterprise mobility services that deliver a simple and smart connection experience for the user while ensuring a secure and cost-effective solution for IT management.”
