Apple’s iPad, which was unveiled today (January 27) will be shipped in 60 days.
The device is exclusive to AT&T in USA and will be unlocked. It is priced at $499 (£308) for the 3G version.
The iPad is 0.5-inches thick, lighter and thinner than a netbook and has a 10-hour battery life. It comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an accelerometer, and between 16GB to 64GB internal memory. It integrates its own-branded Apple A4 1GHz processor.
It is an ebook reader with an ebook store also integrated with books available from publishers including Penguin, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan and Hachette priced between $7.99 to $14.99.
The iPad also has a calendar application which can be flicked through like a book, the full version of iTunes and YouTube videos can be watched in HD. It does it have a camera and the 3G version is available unlocked on AT&T in USA, using the new smaller micro-SIM card.
The iPad can be connected to iTunes account for existing applications to be transferred.
