JAG Communications will decide in the next week whether to hand all its current stores franchise licences or close the remaining eight oultets.
At present 70 of the retailer’s 78 stores hold franchise licences and a decision will be made in the next few days whether to close the eight remaining stores managed directly by the company or to try and drum up more interest internally from current franchise store managers to take on additional stores.
JAG managing director John George said: “As the franchise scheme has gathered momentum and become a bigger success for us, the plan has been to switch all of our shops to franchise locations.
“It’s now time to decide what we want to do with these stores. If there is enough interest from current franchise store managers to take on more stores, then we’ll keep them but if not, it’s possible they will be closed.”
