Outsourcery has acquired the hosted PBX business of Reality Telecom, which traded as Call Navigator IP.

The deal sees the addition of full IP PBX capability following its launch of Office Communicator (based on Microsoft’s Office Communication Server 2007), which is the foundation of the company’s unified communications (UC) strategy.

Outsourcery said that as well as an established customer base, the acquisition brings a wealth of experience to support its strategy to become the leading provider of UC and cloud computing solutions to SMEs in the UK.

It added that customers will benefit from its scale and expertise in UC and integrated hosted IT solutions, including Office Communicator, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and its StoreSafe data backup product.

Outsourcery joint CEO Piers Linney said: “Outsourcery aims to be the market leader in the provision of hosted unified communications and IT solutions to SMEs and the acquisition of Reality Telecom’s IP PBX business provides us with additional customers, expertise and state-of-the-art functionality which compliments our existing Office Communicator product.

“We aim to bring the most advanced and fully integrated offering of hosted solutions in the world to market in 2010, to cater for the growing demand from businesses wanting to embrace the power and material benefits of unified communications and cloud computing. We are really excited about this next stage in the development of the business and we look forward to working with and adding value for our new customers.”

Reality Telecom CEO Simon Slater-Thomas said: “We’ve been very impressed with Outsourcery’s breadth of expertise and innovation and its ability to support such a large range of business communication requirements. The benefit to our customer of access to its products and services will be immense. We are delighted to be able to partner with Outsourcery and look forward to introducing our remaining customers and channel partners to the opportunities this will offer.”
