INQ Mobile has launched the Mini 3G and Chat 3G in India with mobile network operator Aircel.
The deal with Aircel is the second with a non-Hutchison Whampoa network. The INQ devices will be available in over 5,000 stores across the country.
The marketing campaign for the launch of the devices in the country will be backed by cricket play and company ambassador M.S. Dhoni.
INQ chief executive Frank Meehan said: “There are many imitators. But INQ did it first, and does it best. This is about the real deal.
“We believe the Indian youth want it all – and why not? They want an upmarket product, from a brand that understands their point of view, at a price that’s within their grasp. That’s INQ.
“Aircel are about innovation so they were the right partner for us in India. They see the future and know that for the bulk of India’s youth – the centre of their internet experience will be on mobile.”
