Samsung launches app contest

Ideas can be submitted via the website and once the panel of judges have chosen a short list of five, it will be put to a public vote to find the winner.

The idea that gets the most votes gets made and will be available for everyone to download from Android Marketplace for free, with the winner also receiving a prize of £2,000. Gadget Show television presenter Suzi Perry and digital agency CEO Jon Carney will judge the entries.

Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland vice president Mark Mitchinson said: “Our portfolio of Android handsets is set to increase over the course of the year and we are fully committed and extremely confident in providing the best user experience in the marketplace. Our customers have a great opportunity to become engaged in the development process and we wanted to give them the opportunity to send in their creative ideas and shape te future.”
