Business communications provider the Word has appointed former BT Global Services employee Nick Williams as head of fixed line to drive the company’s plans within the converged market place.
Willams spent 23 years at BT, providing voice and mobile solutions to bluechip companies across the UK. He also held sales and marketing roles in his time there.
More recently he headed up specialist sales teams within BT with a focus on providing voice and mobile services to organisations such as the MOD, US Air Force and Capita Group.
At the Word, which is a Welsh-based Vodafone Premier Partner, Williams will look to push forward the company’s fixed and converged voice solutions offering to enable business to merge their communications. The convergence portfolio compliments the Word’s existing offering of services such as employee tracking and home worker solutions.
Williams said: “I’m confident that my experience with BT will help us transform an already successful mobile business into a one-stop-shop for business communications. The service expansion means we will be concentrating on up-skilling our existing employees as well as creating around six new jobs.”
The Word managing director Huw Stiley said: “Having Nick join the team is a real coup for us and his wealth of industry knowledge will undoubtedly prove invaluable. As we head out of the recession we are witnessing a willingness from businesses to spend again and invest in new communications systems that will result in improved performance.”
