Vodafone claims sales of its Sure Signal femtocell product have been strong in both consumer and business channels since relaunching last month.
Vodafone, the only UK operator to commercially launch a femtocell service, initially launched the product in July last year but relaunched in January during promotion of the iPhone.
The product, which connects through fixed broadband, offers improved 3G coverage for up to four handsets in a home or office 24 hours a day. The service was originally targeted at consumers, but Vodafone admits 10 per cent of sales have been to businesses.
Vodafone refused to reveal figures, but Mobile News understands sales have reached thousands.
Vodafone Enterprise director Peter Kelly said: “No other network in the UK can ensure businesses have a great 3G phone signal indoors, because the Sure Signal is unique to Vodafone.
“Early indications are that after only a few months after launch small and medium sized businesses are finding Vodafone Sure Signal transforms their lives, increasing productivity and enabling them to take full advantage of all Vodafone’s services via their handset anywhere in their office or home.”
