Vodafone took more than 20,000 pre-orders for the Apple iPhone 3G and 3G S since Christmas, prior to the devices going on sale through the operator last Thursday (March 25).
Vodafone becomes the second network to sell the iPhone in Ireland, breaking the two-year exclusivity O2 had held over the devices.
The iPhone 3G 8GB is free for all qualifying upgrades and new customers from the Perfect Choice Access 500 plan upwards, costing €80 a month. On the cheapest tariff, Perfect Choice Access at €35 a month, customers will get no inclusive minutes or texts but all plans carry unlimited calls and texts to other Vodafone customers.
On the tariff, customers will have to pay €99 for the 3G 8GB, €199 for the 3G S 16GB and €299 for the 3G S 32GB.
