Vodafone will be the exclusive carrier of KIN when the Windows devices from Microsoft launch in the Autumn.
Initial launch markets for the operator will also be Germany, Italy and Spain, with further markets to follow by the end of the year. Verizon Wireless will be the exclsuive carrier of KIN in the U.S.
There are two models – KIN ONE and KIN TWO. Both feature a capacitive touchscreen and slide-out keyboard. ONE is the smaller of the two with a 2.6-inch screen and 4GB of on-board memory. It is designed to operate with one hand. TWO (pictured) has a 3.4-inch display in addition to 8GB of on-board memory, a higher resolution camera and the ability to record high-definition video. The five and eight-megapixel cameras on ONE and TWO respectively are designed for use in low light with image stabilisation and LED flash.
The home screen on the phones is called KIN Loop, which automatically brings together feeds from leading Microsoft and third-party services such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter all in one place. Users can also select their favourite people and KIN will automatically prioiritse their status updates, messages feeds and photos.
Users can share videos, photos, text messages, web pages, location and status updates by dragging them to a single place on the phone called Spot.
The KIN Studio automatically backs up texts, call history, photos, videos and contactsand populates a persoanlised digital journal to relive memories.
KIN will also be the first Windows Phone to feature Zune, including music, video, FM radio and podcast playback. With a Zune Pass subscription, customers using Zune software on their PC can listen to a host of songs from Zune Marketplace.

KIN phones, together with Vodafone’s outstanding coverage, will provide poeple in Europe with a great social experience on a mobile devices.”
Vodafone group director of terminals Patrick Chomet said: “Mobile social networking is is increasingly having strong apeal for our customers. KIN has a unique and intuitive way of engaging with the user, enabling them easily to share experiences and stay in touch with friends.”
Pricing information and availability dates will be announced closer to the date of launch.
