Nokia takes Kondor man

Nokia has appointed former Kondor national account manager Adam McCormick as one of its T-Mobile account managers.

McCormick was at Kondor for almost two years, holding the role within the company’s non-traditional channel, where he headed up the company’s accounts with Asda and Argos and oversaw new business targets for both accessories and prepay.

Prior to joining the accessories and prepay handset distributor in June 2008 he was at Vodafone for nearly four years, holding business manager, business account manager and project manager roles. Kondor is currently in the process of recruiting for a replacement in McCormick’s role.

Kondor managing director Rob Haycock said: “I’m delighted that Adam has joined Nokia and I would like to wish him the best of luck. It works well for both ourselves and Nokia as Adam’s appointment further strengthens the relationship between the two companies.”

McCormick was unavailable for comment as Mobile News went to press.

Meanwhile, Kondor is lookling to go on a recruitment drive and bring in five new staff to help manage new contract wins.

The firm is recruiting for a national account manager, national account executive, two to work within the independent channel and one within the commercial team.

The latest recruitment drive comes following three appointments last month. Antony Madden, formerly of The Carphone Warehouse, joined as a dedicated OEM product manager, assisting current OEM product manager Rob Bryant. Marco Astesiano and Dan Cann also joined as trade sales advisors, charged with managing both existing and new business accounts to develop leads in the independent sector.

Kondor managing director Rob Haycock said: “We’re continuing to grow and these are exciting times for us. We’re recruiting for five more people
to join us to deal with new account wins. The more hands we have on the pump to look after our customers’ requirements the better, and the more we are likely to grow and expand the business.”
