Azzurri is piloting a private mobile network for the University College London Hospital (UCLH) NHS Foundation Trust.
The pilot is part of a seven-year contract worth £10 million through which Azzurri is implementing all of the Trust’s mobility solutions.
Azzurri has installed pico cells across the Trust’s seven hospitals and aims to have it fully installed by early next year. The private mobile network will link up campuses across London and will allow patients with mobile phones to access the network.
Patients roaming onto the private network will be able to receive welcome messages and text alerts about their appointments. Location based services will also be available such as a text message informing the patient of which building their appointment will be in, and even directing them to a different campus if in the wrong building.
