20:20 has appointed Chris Burrett as its new UK head of marketing. He will join the company next month and replaces outgoing head of marketing Richard Jones, who is leaving the country to join a business overseas.
Burrett will report to purchasing and marketing director Andrew Peat and will be responsible for 20:20’s channel marketing strategy for handsets, accessories and content business.
He joins the company having held senior marketing positions at DSGi, Virgin Mobile and Dell. His appointment comes at a time of growth for 20:20 which saw its UK business grow by 17 per cent as well as securing a series of major long-term contracts over the past 12 months.
Burrett’s appointment also follows on from an overall expansion of 20:20’s marketing department, which has seen it recruit additional marketing executives and has added to its design and packaging teams to support all its business channels.
20:20 purchasing and marketing director Andrew Peat said: “It’s widely expected that 20:20 has a leading marketing function and Chris, who has extensive retail marketing experience from his time at DSGi and Virgin, as well as an excellent knowledge of key growth areas for 20:20 including content and prepay, will help maintain 20:20’s position as clear industry leaders. The overall expansion of the marketing team shows 20:20’s commitment to working with its partners.”
Burrett said: “I have worked closely with distribution throughout my career and understand the value that a company such as 20:20 can bring to the market. I look forward to working with the leading brands that 20:20 has relationships with, both on the customer and supplier areas of the industry.”
