P4U adds to Currys in-store trial

Phones 4u and Currys are extending their store-in-store trial to two more locations in the UK.

Phones 4u will now have a presence in Currys stores at Roaring Meg Retail Park, Stevenage and the Merryhill Centre, Dudley. The Stevenage concession will open on May 27, and on June 3 in Dudley.

Phones 4u currently has concessions in three Currys stores around the UK, at Wednesbury, Birmingham, at Hedge End, Southampton and in its Thurrock megastore.

A Phones 4u spokesperson said: “Customer feedback on the store-in-store formats has so far been extremely positive and both Phones 4u and Currys are happy with its performance. As a result, we decided to expand the current trial and the two new store-in-store openings will continue to offer customers mobile phone solutions including contract, prepay, SIM-only and SIM-free propositions.

“The trial with Currys is ongoing and currently offers us the opportunity to further broaden our customer base and increase our market share in locations we would not otherwise have exposure to. We will continue to work closely with Currys to review the trial’s progress and success.”
