Fone Logistics managing director Ian Gillespie (pictured left) exits the firm he founded in 1996 with immediate effect, following its purchase by fixed line reseller Daisy Communications today for £3.6 million.
Mobile News understands Gillespie and Fone Logistics financial director Michael Fitzpatrick (pictured ight) exit the distributor with its sale to focus on their dealership business Activ Telecom.
Fone Logistics’ arrangement with Three transfers to Activ Telecom also, which will now run as an airtime distributor for the operator.
Major shareholder Gillespie takes £2.9 million from the £.3.6 million sale of Fone Logistics. Fitzpatrick, with a 12.5 per cent stake in the Northumberland distributor, takes £450,000. The remaining six per cent of the purchase fee is shared among minor shareholders.
Marketing director Julien Parven and sales director Duncan Edwards remain at Fone Logistics, and will work now with Anglia Telecom managing director Dave McGinn and finance director Jamie McCrae.
Gillespie was unavailable for comment at writing.
Anglia Telecom Centres, acquired by Daisy Commmunications as part of its £17 million purchase of Redstone Telecom in August, will incorporate the businesses and infrastructure of Fone Logistics, and be headed by McGinn.
