Orange’s direct sales team is targeting increased share of the public and private business sectors with a range of enhanced lone worker and security solutions.
Orange has new strategic partnerships with application providers Guardian24 and Peoplesafe, which specialise in public and private sector lone worker solutions respectively.
Its lone worker proposition allows workers to summon emergency help in the field with the touch of a button – either a mechanism attached to clothing, or via an application running on a mobile phone. Alerts go to response centres managed by Guardian24 or Peoplesafe.
GPS tracking can be enabled as part of the solution also, which allows for an alarm to be raised in the office if an employee’s activity does not match their submitted schedules and plans for the day, for example.
Guardian24 and Peoplesafe also provide consultancy and service information to public and private sector clients, with risk assessments and legal guidance.
Orange UK head of corporate propositions Michael Lawrence said: “The ability to call for help at the touch of a button can be an immense confidence booster for employers and employees alike.
“We’ve partnered with Peoplesafe and Guardian24 for our lone worker solution, because they recognise the need to provide businesses with easy to use, reliable tools that can help them take care of employees’ well-being in the way that suits them best.”
As well, Orange is working with encryption specialists Becrypt and Barron McCann to broaden its secure connectivity portfolio. The new arrangements will specifically allow Orange to offer corporations the ability to encrypt laptop data so it is protected in the event of loss or theft, and also to ensure data is encrypted and secure in transit across the Orange network.
Orange has also boosted availability of its Managed VPN, which offers secure and high-speed access to business services and applications remotely on a business device, by expanding the range of connectivity and back-up options for customers.
It is also now available on a monthly subscription, as well as for a single upfront fee.
Orange claimed it is the first UK network to conform to the ISO27001 Information Security Management Standard, and is the only UK mobile operator that uses the USIM for 3G traffic, allowing authentication of mobile device and network before connection.
“We have completely refreshed our Managed VPN and partnering with the best specialists to deliver secure connectivity. The breadth and depth of the solutions and our new partnerships mean we can offer a broad range of expertise, with solutions available for all types and sizes of business to keep them remotely connected.”
